Scientific journals are important in the process of scientific communication. This study aims to describe the periodicals in the areas of Archival, Library and Information Science indexed in Directory of Open Access Journals. The main objective is to examine whether these publications are indexed with the text in the directory. The DOAJ aims to increase the visibility of open access journals. As results 16 brazilian journals were retrieved in the field of Archival, Library and Information Science. Through desk research using direct observation was possible to identify the indexing of each journal within the directory. After data analysis and discussion, we conclude that three (3) periodic journals stay with the complete collections, eight (8) with partial collections and five (5) only held the record in the DOAJ. The study concludes with recommendations to carry out other studies involving the editorial processes of a journal.
